Stewart Baker, who was the assistant secretary for policy at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) under the George W. Bush administration, recently stated that “To prevail in the cyber security war, defense is not enough.” The only conclusion that you can draw from this statement is to go on the cyber offensive!

MOSSAD THREAT

It has been reported that the Mossad actually threatened the hacking group Anonymous. If this is true it should be great interesting to watch from a distance. With the Mossad’s reputation and capabilities and the personality of Anonymous – the fireworks should be intense!!

The New Face of War – Cyber

Most of the world’s governments, militaries and intelligence services are unprepared for the new face of war – CYBER. Just recently, Mike McConnell, former Director of the National Security Agency (NSA) in the U.S. stated in an interview with Reuters that cyber war is more than a distant possibility and went on to say that the U.S. has already launched attacks on the computer networks of other nations. Many believe this threat will only be properly addressed once the world witnesses a successful cyber attack resulting in major disruptions and moderate to severe damage. How close we are to an event like this is anyone’s guess, but some believe it is right around the corner. Only time will tell.

Lockheed disclosed last week it had experienced a detected a “significant and tenacious attack” on its computers and networks.
